Red Ribbon Week Dress Up Days

Red Ribbon Week Dress Up Days

One School, One Goal
Bully & Drug Free!

Red Ribbon week is recognized nationally at the end of October each year.  Red Ribbon week was created to draw attention to educating youth about the dangers of drugs and alcohol and, more recently, began to include bully prevention.  During the month of January, PELC will be taking extra time to include these topics in our classrooms.  We also hope that you continue these conversations at home.

To help shine a light on these important issues, the PELC Student Council has designated Fridays in January as dress-up days to go along with some themes we will be covering at school.

  • Friday, January 5thSports Day ~ We want to tackle the issue of bullying!  Come to school dressed in your favorite team apparel.  Any team…Any sport!
  • Friday, January 12th  – Twin Day ~ 2 Heads are always better than 1 when faced with a challenge!  Gather your friends and coordinate your attire.  It could be as simple as wearing the same color or dressing the same from your heads down to your toes.
  •  Friday, January 26th  – Throw-Back Day ~ We would really like to make drugs and bullying a thing of the past!  Choose the decade that fits you best and dress the part.  Whether you’re a slicked back hair and poodle skirt sort of person or more into the big hair and parachute pants, there are plenty of styles from the past to choose from.

*Please remember face paints and masks are not allowed during the dress up days.

Thank You for your support at home!
